Hayward, 'The mannerist goldsmiths' in The Connoisseur, 149, 1962, p. 159, fig. 4 Formerly attributed to Giovanni da Udine, but clearly by the same hand as a drawing of two maces in the British Museum (no. 19579-11-1; Pouncey and Gere, no. 188). The British Museum drawing is tentatively ascribed by Pouncey and Gere to Perino's assistant Luzio Romano.
