Physical description

Painting, in opaque watercolour on paper, Maharao Chhatar Sal, ruler of Kota 1866-1869, with a green halo, is shown riding a garlanded horse, accompanied by girls and retainers bearing garlands. The procession is being held during the festival of Gangaur, which honours the gods Shiva and Parvati.
