The Hindu god Krishna and his human consort Radha are depicted here as a Rajput prince and princess. They are surrounded by female attendants and musicians, and Radha herself is plucking a vina as she faces Krishna.
The highly polished but rather static style of painting is typical of Jaipur court art of the time. Western-style perspective has been used in the receding landscape and architecture.(27/9/2013) |
