Object history
Nothing in the Registered Papers to connect the donors Mr. & Mrs. Gosch with Burma. However, the file contains a report from C. Stanley Clarke who inspected the Buddha before purchase and learnt that it had been obtained by the late Captain Dale, R.A., from a shrine in King Thibaw's apartments in the Royal Palace at Mandalay, in 1886.
