This may have been intended for presentation to Vice Admiral Collingwood. In 1805 the corporation of Newcastle upon Tyne voted to give him a piece of plate following the battle of Trafalgar. The base for a cup presented to Colinwood survives in the collection of Tine and Wear Museums marked by William Burwash and Richard Sibley, London 1806 to 1807.Colingwood was a native of Newcastle.
This design shows the side of the cup, for the front see 8437.14 .
