Object history
This cover came in to the Museum as part of the Needlework Development Scheme, and said to be dated to the 17th century. The object came previously from the Jacoby Collection. This is most likely a new-made cover, based on the popular design from the late 17th century. The colours are too strong and the pattern is 'restored' . Furthermore, the Holy Dove that appears in a semicircular glory above the Angel and Virgin in most of the surviving historical examples has here been replaced by initials.
Production
Most likely newly made, probably within the Swedish Arts & Crafts movement
