From an album of portraits of the Crace family and natural and architectural subjects, inscribed in John Gregory Crace's hand 'Irish peasantry'.

The photograph depicts two couples standing together in a large room. The two ladies wear woolen capes; one of the men has a felt top hat and breeches, the other wears a tartan waistcoat and woolen overcoat and holds a stick. There is an akwardness to the pose.
