Object history | A design for a small covered vase, probably a mustard pot, with a flame finial in the Neo Rococo Style. Pasted into an album into which are pasted other drawings including tracings of drawings by Gilles Marie Oppenord (1672- 1742). The album was originally put together in France. Pasted onto the page with this drawing are designs for and pulls from engravings on silver in the Rococo style of circa 1825. Other pages are also pasted with pulls. All this English material may have been added by a silver engraver or by the dealer Parsons, who sold similar material to the South Kensington Museum. Bought from E. Parsons & Sons 22nd January 1883 for £1 and 5 Shillings. |
