Amulet made from a five-sided sheet of silver, shaped like house, with a rocker engraved design on the front of two arched niches containing Arabic inscriptions with flowers above. There is a large loop at the top made from a strip of ribbon wire which is riveted to the top of the amulet.

Amulet made from a five-sided sheet of silver, shaped like house, with a rocker engraved design on the front of two arched niches containing Arabic inscriptions with flowers above. There is a large loop at the top made from a strip of ribbon wire which is riveted to the top of the amulet.

Partial long mark with Arabic character. (Twice on the back: on the sheet silver and on the reinforcing strip.)
Translation
Mark for 900 standard silver 1856-1905.

Accessions register entry: 'Amulet of silver engraved with a sacred inscription in Arabic. Mark, an Arabic character. / A plate, rectangular below, pointed above, with a strengthening band rivetted at the back and continued to form a loop at the top. The inscription is in five columns enclosed within two horse-shoe arches. Above is a floral ornament. / North African (?) / H. 2 7/8 in., W. 1 7/8 in.'
