This pair of bracelets was acquired by the Museum in 1902 as an example of traditional Algerian jewellery.
They were probably made as souvenirs. Although the design is Islamic, they bear no relation to the bracelets traditionally worn in Algeria by either urban or tribal women.

Physical description | Bracelet consisting of two halves of sheet metal, hinged together, with a pin fastening. The pin is missing. Each part is decorated in the same way with a band of applied filigree set with blue pastes imitating turquoise. Most of the pastes are missing. |
