Black chalk on dark grey paper, laid down on a larger piece of card, along with 8 related pencil sketches on 8 pieces of paper. Each sketch is numbered and inscribed with notes by the artist. Inscribed "foundation for chalk drawing". Signed and dated "AOS 37".
