The top of the engraving, and the section marked with a H illustrates a illustrates a cross section of the existing tomb. The majority of the engraving is however concerned with the topographical plan for the tomb. A ruined stone with a scale for the plans is in the centre of the engraving. The letters provide a key, which is explained in Italian at the bottom of the engraving.

Marks and inscriptions
Pianta, ed Elevazione di una camra sepolcrale. Trovasi questa Fabbrica, di cui ancor si vede l'avánzo sopra terra, segnato. A. dirimpetto la Chiesa di S. Sebastiano fuori delle mura. La Pianta fu de me rintracciata, allorche l'anno 1750 ivi fu fatta una Cava sino al Pavimto, sopra il quale tra confusi Framti furono scoperte parecchie Basi confusti di Colonne, disposte con ordine: due Urne di marmo, le quali saranno riportate nella Tav. seguente stavano dentro le nicchie. Da ciò, ch'è rimasto, ben si comprende essere stata fabbrica riguardevole de'tempi buoni, risarcita più volte però, ed abbellita di pitture, stucchi, e di altri vaghi ornamenti, de quali qualche vestigio ancora seneravvisa nelle pareti, smantellate affatto però d'ogn'Iscrizione a riserva di qualche framto. de' tempi bassi, trivato tra e macerie, e qui appresso trasportato. B. Parte della Pianta demolita, indicata dalla tinta leggera. C. Ingressi, e Prospetto sopra la Via Appia. D. Nicchie, in due delle quali furono0 trovate l'Urne. E. Tribune, le quali curvandosi alla Volta di mezzo si univano. F. Due ordini di Colonne, le quali sostenendo una semplice Cornice magnificante ornavano il vano della Cama. G. Via Appia. H.
