Double page landscape format engraving in black and white, depicting a series of recesses 5 across by 9 down. In each recess is an inscription carved in marble, taken from above the sepulchral niches in the burial chamber of the freedmen and slaves of the family of Augustus. Most of the inscriptions are intact, but some are reconstructed and some fragmentary.
