Double page landscape format engraving in black and white, depicting a plan, side elevation and details of construction of the Bridge of Fabricius (Bridge of the Four Heads).
The side elevation shows the ancient and modern levels of the river bed, as well as a view of the city beyond, including the Theatre of Marcellus and the campanile of the Basilica of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. Below this is a plan view, showing the lozenge-shaped central pier of the bridge. Below the plan are details of moulding and capitals from the top of the bridge, and a travertine block from the central pier, showing the holes by which it is joined with pins to the other blocks.
Features of the engraving are lettered, with a key in Italian below.
