Drawing in charcoal on paper, with fixative (probably gum arabic) applied on top. Preparatory, full-length figure study. This design shows a man who stands frontally in contrapposto stance, his head turned to the left and his sleeves rolled up. His left hand rests on the shaft of a long hammer whose head is not drawn. Creasing, and pinholes. Foxing, and some staining and fingerprints. Conservation mounting underneath paper.
