This design shows a man who stands more or less frontally in contrapposto stance. He wears an apron and his sleeves are rolled up. In one hand he holds a large pair of crucible tongs, only roughly delineated. His other arm is drawn across his chest. The top of his head is cut off by the edge of the paper. Paper of irregular shape. Upper right-hand corner missing. Tearing, creasing, and pinholes. Foxing, staining, and fingerprints. Some craquelure and pooling of fixative. Conservation mounting underneath paper.
