Mitten for proper left hand of leather, for woman. Short, open thumb and no fingers. Satin and stem stitch embroidery in coloured silks (apricot, blue, green, yellow and cream) on tumb and back of the hands, a debased floral form or a lyre with stars and heart-shaped devices. Slit at wrist on proper left.

Physical description
Mitten for proper left hand of leather, for woman. Short, open thumb and no fingers. Satin and stem stitch embroidery in coloured silks (apricot, blue, green, yellow and cream) on tumb and back of the hands, a debased floral form or a lyre with stars and heart-shaped devices. Slit at wrist on proper left.

Historical context
Embroidered leather gloves were constantly presented as wedding gifts in pre-mid-19th century Sweden, both by bride and groom. Worn on formal occasions.
Production
Made by professional glover. According to donor the mitten originally came from the parish of Åhl of the province of Dalarna (Dalecarlia), however, this type is also common for the parish of Rättvik in Dalarna.
