This small table is well made but simple. The presence of a shaped apron only on one side indicates that it was intended to be placed against a wall. The only decoration is on the apron and the legs, which are turned (shaped while revolving on a lathe).

On loan to Lamport Hall.

Physical description
Small rectangular side table with one drawer on turned legs united by plain stretchers with a simple moulding on their top edges. The front and side rails carved. The top consists of three oak boards, fixed to the frame with large dowels, and is probably a replacement. The drawer is supported on softwood battens. All four feet have been built up by 5cm. The drawer with two turned knob handles.
The drawer held with single large dovetails, the sides and back appear to be cedar, the bottom of two oak boards (laterally grained) nailed up.
The front rail 4cm thick.
