Pencil and watercolour on paper backed with linen. This sheet comprises two drawings for new buildings at the Victoria and Albert Museum. On the left, the first shows a longitudinal section of one of the 'Courts W of S. E Court', top-lit with a coved ceiling and a large central doorway. On the right, the second design shows a block containing the 'South East Staircase'. At ground-floor level paired columns respectively frame a doorway and the first treads of the staircase; at first-floor level, the block is top-lit with a cover ceiling. To the left, the vestibule adjoins the edge of a single-storey room or court; to the right, it adjoins a two-storey range labelled 'Buildings towards Cromwell Road', in front of which runs a ground-floor arcade topped with a balustrade.
