Design
January 1871 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

In 1864 the 'Brompton Boilers', simple, iron-framed buildings which had been built to provide temporary display space during the early years of the Victoria and Albert Museum, began to be taken down to make way for further permanent buildings. Part of the iron framework was reused to form the core of a new Bethnal Green Museum (now the V&A Museum of Childhood). This design comprises two plans of a Keeper's House for the Bethnal Green Museum (see also E.1087-1927); it does not seem to have been built.
