This is a poster advertising Smirnoff vodka. The ‘through the bottle’ campaign was launched in early 1993. So far, more than 40 different versions have been issued, 75 per cent of which have been used globally. The ‘gargoyle’ poster has run in more than 20 different markets, covering Europe, America and Asia. Its global success lies largely in the flexibility of this simple concept and its lack of copy. It establishes the brand as a witty, stylish drink with a subtle edge to it.
