Place of origin

Wallpapers fell out of fashion during the vogue for Modernist architecture and design. The Palladio range was designed in the 1950s to bring wallpaper back into the interiors of public and private modern buildings. Designs such as the Bistro pattern were suitable for cafés, coffee bars and restaurants, as well as the domestic kitchen-diner. It reflected the new interest in holidays abroad and in foreign food and wine.
