Baby's long petticoat, of white lawn. The garment is sleeveless, with a squared neck front; the bodice front is decorated with pin tucks, embroidered spots and entredeux insertion. The skirt is cartridge pleated to the waist, and finished with a double row of pin tucking above a lace-edged flounce machine embroidered with flowers in cutwork. The garment fastens at the back with triangular crossover flaps, put together left over right with a slit by the true left armhole; a tying string of ivory-coloured ribbon has subsequently been stitched to the end of each flap.
