This is a poster advertising a brand of tea. Ludwig Hohlwein (1874-1949) began his career in 1906 in Munich, working for a number of different printers. His realistic depiction of figures and animals remained popular for the next 40 years in both Germany and America. He worked on his own, but had an enormous output. By 1924 he had produced more than 3,000 posters for a wide range of clients.
