Barrel-shaped with a v-spout and handle composed of two crossed loops springing from leaves, with a painted scene of a seated Englishman with a tankard, holding out a note which reads 'DEAR TOH (M)/THIS BROWN/JUG WHICH/NOW FOAMS/WITH MILD/ALE OUT OF...' and painted on the reverse with a table of food; round the rim a border with gilt stars on a 'bleu du roi' ground.
