This pair of women's shoes has a low-cut 'slipper' shape and the short 'Italian' heel that was fashionable for a short period. They show a mixture of influences, including a cut-out pattern with coloured underlay reminiscent of the slashed designs of shoes in the 1530s and 1540s.
