This ring was acquired by the Museum in 1871 as part of a large collection of rings which had been assembled by the Victorian scholar Edmund Waterton. It was described at that time as 17th-century Albanian.

Silver ring with raised diamond-shaped bezel decorated with applied granules and a niello motif.
Physical description
Silver ring with a plain shank and three-tiered lozenge-shaped bezel. Each tier is smaller than the one below and edged with granules. The top tier has a stylised niello sprig in the centre. There is a granule extension on each shoulder.
