Physical description

A black and white engraving depicting a view of the Grand Canal in Venice. The scene depicted is a bustling one, with many gondolas and large crowds of figures gathering in front of the two palaces either side of the canal. In the foreground seven male figures are visible, one is gesturing towards the canal whilst the others stand conversing in pairs.
