Object history | The stained glass panel from which this drawing is copied was in the fifth window from the east (known as the St Cuthbert Window) in the south aisle of the choir of York Minster. However, it almost certainly did not belong to that window and may have come from another window connected with a guild of barber-surgeons in York. The panel has since been removed from the St. Cuthbert window. (Information from Rev. J. T. Fowler, 'Additional Notes on the St Cuthbert Window in York Minster', The Yorkshire Archaeological and Topographical Journal XI: 1891, pp. 486-581) |
