In Tuscany 1909 Edward Gordon Craig Craig set up a base in Florence in 1907. Here he studied the fall of light upon architectural forms and also their spacing. Craig observed and then transformed clustered Italian apartment blocks into the abstracted blocks of his ideal dramatic settings. Woodcut Museum no. E.2973-1930
