Place of origin |
This poster is advertising the Second Exhibition of Engines and Machinery, which was held in Munich in Germany in 1898. The figurative image of men using their strength to harness mechanical power perfectly reflected the subject of the exhibition. It also foreshadowed the Futurist notion of man and machine. Adolf Münzer was later involved with the Deutsche Werkbund, the organisation founded by artists, manufacturers and designers to improve the design of man-made products in Germany.
