This necklace is a fine example of the highly accomplished Swiss enamelling of the early 19th century, much of which was made for the tourist trade. The necklace is decorated with painted enamel miniatures of women wearing the traditional costumes of the Swiss cantons. It is reversible, with decoration in green, blue and pink on the other side.
