Coloured aquatint depicting a view over the South Downs looking towards Arundel castle where a Union Flag is flying from the top of one of the turrets. In the fields of the park, in the foreground, are several groups of deer. The sea, upon which there are several ships, is visible in the far distance. The River Arun runs over the downs and to the right of the river is a windmill.
