Marks and inscriptions
  • 'Red line- head gilt - red mouth - eyes touched black face cloth a grey warm blue.' (Inscribed with reference to corbels on obverse)
  • 'These corbels are about 4-0 long they are painted a creamy white the hair being gilt - and the leaves also partially, and strengthened with black lines. the interstices are painted a brown red as also the border around of 1in wide - the top fillet is a fine bright red.' (Inscribed on reverse)
