Artist/Maker
Place of origin

John Abbott White (1793-1851) painted detailed studies of interesting trees and dense woodland. They are his most impressive artistic achievements. Like many of his large drawings, this watercolour is painted on six separate sheets laid down on one piece of paper. This may indicate that the drawing was done on the spot and the watercolour applied later in the studio.
