| Object history | This drawing was discovered in the stores in 1933, and subsequently acquired for the collection. It was probably made in 1904 when the subject was exhibited along with other pieces from J. Pierpont Morgan's collection at the V&A. From the 1890s to the 1900s, Blanche F. Hunter and her sister Ada worked for the Museum producing watercolour copies of textile patterns (expanded from small fabric fragments) and hand-colouring photographs. A lot of their work is still held in the Textiles and Fashion collection with the associated textile fragments. |
