Physical description

The panel of the third plate depicts Amphitrite or Venus borne by dolphins; that of the fifth, Apollo and Daphne; the rest depict various incidents in the life of Hercules (the latter are after prints by Antonio Tempesta, Rome, 1608 (B. XVII, 788-99) Ref: Fuhring, 629-634.)

Object history note

The previous catalogue record identified Apollo and Daphne as Apollo and Psyche and did not include reference to Venus (i.e. just Amphitrite).
