Physical description
Evening dress of black jersey constructed of six panels. It is fitted to the body to the knee and it flares to floor level.The seams are top stiched for reinforcement and subtle decoration. The neckline has a keyhole shape and incorporates a sequinned stand-up collar. It is sleeveless.

Miss Muir was set apart as a dressmaker by her pure, disciplined approach which ensured that designing, cutting, construction, and finishing were all accomplished to the most exacting standards. jersey is an extremely difficult fabric to handle and control but Jean Muir mastered it completely, ast his sensual evening dress with its provocative keyhole neckline reveals. Below a glistening stand-up collar 14 slender panles are immaculately seamed and top-stitched and gently flare over the body to the hem. Jean Muir was internationally famous for softly tailored, little black dresses in jersey.(1997)
