Gallery label | THE COLOUR-PRINTS OF ELYSE LORD.
The method adopted by Elyse Lord in the production of her colour-prints is essentially a combination of drypoint and lino-cut. The key-plate having been scratched with a drypoint needle is inked and printed in the usual manner for intaglio prints. [See Exhibit in Case 3].
On the impression thus obtained colour is added by means of a series of lino-cuts, one for each colour, engraved in relief and printed like woodcuts.
This Exhibit shows:
1. The engraved copper-plate. E.2648-1938.
2. 2-5. Lino-cuts. E.2649-2652-1938.
3. 6. Finished proof. E.2653-1938. |
