Sampler made of two joined lengths of single canvas embroidered with silks and wools. With coloured marking threads every ten threads, bound with blue taffeta ribbon and embroidered in gros point with a full range of Berlin wools. Some highlights are worked in coloured silks and steel beads used in one pattern. The sampler illustrates a variety of geometric patterns together with a few floral sprays and one example of a gothic design.
