Object history | Specially made for the Victoria and Albert Museum after a previous example arrived broken. The series of vankkurit (Finnish: 'chariot'), kaksijalka (Finnish: 'bipod') and torni (Finnish: 'tower') forms in various dimensions, colourways and patterning are part of the general series 'Matka Troijiaan' (Finnish: 'Journey to Troy'). The series was designed in 1992 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Nuutajärvi glass works in 1993. This example follows the broken example in form and colouring. Several variants exist on the original theme and all are limited editions. |
