This evening dress is of black sequined lace with a gathered, bouffant silk faille overskirt with horizontal strips. It was designed by Givenchy in Paris in 1987 and illustrates his skill with luxurious fabrics.

Physical description

Evening dress of sequined lace (by Marescot) with a gathered bouffant eau-de-Nil silk faille overskirt embellished with horizontal rows of black velvet bands and ruched silk satin ribbons (by Jacob Schlaepfer). It has a high neckline and long sleeves.
