This tie-dyed silk headscarf or odhani is made up of two identical halves, tied together to achieve symmetry along the vertical axis, and then sewn together. The borders depict elephants and dancing girls, characteristic motifs in the arts of the Gujarat region of India. The Museum acquired this odhani at the 1867 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
