Design (front and side elevations) for the memorial to Henrietta, Duchess of Gordon. Beneath a memorial tablet supported by two consoles is a recumbent lion, above is a portrait medallion at which a putto is gazing; the whole is surmounted by a shield showing the arms of Gordon impaling Mordaunt. On the reverse is an agreement drawn up probably by Lord Adam Gordon, the Duchess's son.

Object history
The agreement on the back of the above drawing appears to have been drawn up by Lord Adam Gordon (c.1726-1801) one of the sons of the duchess commemorated. The monument, as executed shows slight variations from this preliminary drawing, being set upon a plinth and not resting upon consoles.
