Object history
The inscriptions inside the front covers of the sketch-books E.268 - 312-1943 were mostly added by Steer's secretary, Miss Glenn Huggins, who in her recollections published in Steer by D.S. MacColl (London, 1945) says "Most of the sketch-books were scrapped: some of those he kept he asked me to make a few notes in." Other inscriptions throughout the sketch-books were added in 1943 on information supplied by Mr. Ronald Gray.
