Object history
Despite the suggested attribution to William Heath at the time of acquisition in 1943, S. Gans was notorious for piracies and copies of Heath's work. These contemporary fakes were usually drawn by John Phillips or 'A Sharpshooter'. (D Milford-Cottam, 2012)
