Costume design for Two Flies. The design depicts two three quarter length male figures wearing stylised costumes representing insects. The costumes consists of fluffy woolen jumpers (one orange & black, the other dark blue & black) worn with black shorts, striped tights (orange & black, and dark blue & black), and black socks. The figures also wear black gloves, transparent wings, and black antennae attached to their heads. The figure on the left also holds a long shepherd's crook with an attached paper lantern in his right hand Unsigned by the artist.

Object history
This costume design by Lez Brotherston is part of an extensive collection of designs donated to the Theatre Museum by the artist in 2002. The design was executed for a production of Leos Janacek's opera "The Cunning Little Vixen" performed by Opera Zuid at the Theater aan het Vrijthof, Maastricht, on January 21st 1995. The production was directed by Aidan Lang, conducted by Julian Reynolds, choreographed by Andrew George, and lit by John Bishop. The cast included Anne Dawson as the Vixen.
