Middle East, Metalwork. For a Caucasian dagger or short sword (Kindjal), brown leather with corroded brass stitching, chiselled steel mounts decorated with silver kuftkari, Caucasus. Arms and armour. Inter-departmental transfer to MES, RF 2011/1170.

Caucasian dagger or short sword, watered steel double edged blade with a broad fuller and gold kuftkari borders around chiselled panels of alternating animal and calligraphic motifs nielloed or with a lacquer infill. The horn hilt has steel rivets formerly decorated with silver kuftkari. Caucasus. Inter-departmental transfer to MES, RF 2011/1170.
