Object history | Historical significance: Khatri bandhani work is perhaps the finest in Gujarat and is usually made in Kutch. The large odhanis have similar patterns, with large central medallions against a black ground, which give them the name chandrokhani or 'moon-like'. The absence of animals or human figures in the design indicates Muslim usage. |
