Lucien Becker

Printing Plate
1951 (made)
Artist/Maker

Abram Krol (1919–2001) engraved this bold portrait using simple outlines but with such depth and clarity of line that the image is clearly visible, even on the copper plate. Only the hair and the shadow under the hands have any shading. This image is just like the artist’s characteristic outline style of drawing, only reproduced using a burin in copper.
